2012 April-September Favorites

It's been awhile since I last updated. WHY? well...partly because I'm busy. :x Yeah, I know it's a very common reason to come up with... lol. Another reason is because I ran out of topic... - -"

Honestly, I have a few products(skincare and cosmetics) to share with you guys but since I want to write a more precise and truthful reviews, I would actually use the products for a period of time like maybe 1 to 3 months before I write and publish the reviews up in my blog. I'm still in the process of trying out the products and observing the effects it give to my skin so that would simply be my third reason why I have not been updating and sharing any reviews lately. :)

I really do want to update my blog so I just remember that I have not been doing "favorites of the month" topic thus, here I am~~ The last favorites of the month post I wrote and published was "2012 January to March". Hence, I will continue my favorites post from 2012 April to September. Without further ado, let's get into the point~!

Cosmetics:
  • Face
The Face Shop Power Perfection BB Cream
This is my first BB cream I tried in my life~ I really like it's coverage strength(medium-full coverage) and unlike other korean BB creams, this shade(natural beige) isn't too fair for my skin tone. It's easy to blend as well.
*Review coming up soon* :)

DHC Acne Medicated Acne Concealer
I think I've mentioned this in one of my favorites post before. Up till today, this is still my favorite concealer. It's specially formulated for acne-prone skin. Though the coverage strength is average for dark post acne marks but use this with The Face Shop BB cream that I mentioned above makes everything goes perfectly. :D
  • Eyes
Holika Holika Jewel-Light Waterproof Eyeliner
I shared a review on this the other day. Check it out: [link] The colors are really pretty and most of them have glitters in it which give light shimmering to the eyes. It's waterproof, glides on smoothly and it's very practical because you can use it as eyeshadow.

Etude House Tear Drop Liner/Tear Eye Liner
I like to apply this on the inner corner of my eyes. It has a thin brush applicator which makes it easier to control the thickness during application. However, there's a downside. I like to rub my eyes a lot (lol) so for me it does not last long and it's non-waterproof. Have to reapply it time to time. But it doesn't matter to me because reapplying helps me to use up the bottle quicker. I always can't seem to finish up any beauty products and ended up throwing them away due to expiry. :/
*Review coming up soon*
  • Lips
Nivea Hydro Care Lip Balm
Simple lip balm which provides moisture to the lips. It does not have a strong scent which is why I like it. :)

The Body Shop Colorshine Lipstick
Absolutely love the color!
Check out the review: [link]

Skincare:
  • Basic
Hada Labo SHA Facial Wash
My first tube SHA facial wash and I'm still using it. Have been using it for 6 weeks. Overall, quite like it since it's less harsh, it's very gentle and it provides enough moisture to the skin. Unlike those cleansers which tackle troubled skin, anti-aging or whitening etc, to me, I think this is the most basic cleanser for starter. Teenagers who are looking for a cleanser for your skin, maybe you can try this. After all, hydrating is an important factor to prevent whatever skin problems from arising.
*Review coming up soon*

Hada Labo SHA Hydrating Lotion
One bottle can lasts really long. lol. Another awesome SHA products from Hada Labo. It says "One drop locks up an ocean". When I first read that phrase, I was like...wow really?!? O_O "One drop locks up an ocean", it sounds a little exaggerating. LOL! I gave it a try and to be honest, it really does what it's claims! It's very gentle yet provides enough moisture! I can feel my skin become bouncier after a few application~
*Review coming up soon*

Hada Labo SHA Hydrating Milk
Same as SHA lotion, it keeps the skin from getting thirsty and gives bouncy effect to the skin :D and it's lightweight yet non-greasy and absorbs into the skin. Best moisturizer as base prior to makeup.
*Review coming up soon*

  • Acne/Troubled Skin Treatment
Mizon Snail Repair Cream
I love this cream~
Review: [link]

Skinfood Tomato Whitening Spot treatment
Currently using this as post acne marks treatment. It's lightweight yet non-greasy. Yes, it does helps to lighten acne marks but it takes time to completely fade acne marks. Whatever treatments take time to see results so whoever interested in this product, do have some patience. :D
Review: [link]

Nexcare Acne Patch
Another holy grail product. Only downside..., it's pricey!! :/
Whoever interested in this, if you have lots of zit like what I had in the past, you gonna be prepared to drain your wallet. :)
Review: [link]

  • Blackheads treatment
The Face Shop EX Charcoal Pore Strips
Check out the review: [link] and you will know why I love this.
  • Facial Mask
Etude House I Need You, Yogurt! Wash-Off Pack
Pamper your skin with this hydrating mask pack~ Chill this in the fridge prior application and enjoy the cooling effect it gives to your skin. :D
Review: [link]

I'm feeling sleepier halfway through writing~ lolol. Anyway, those products which I have marked a label(?) — *Review coming up soon*, I will try to post up the reviews within this 2-3 weeks. If I couldn't make it then well..., please forgive me. HAHAHAA~ I will try my best to update as soon as possible or whenever I'm free. \m/

2012 January-March Favorites

Mood:

Finally...I got back my Macbook Pro from the service center. So here I am updating my blog. :)

I have quite a number of stuff I want to update about... I will post it one by one. As for today, I will continue my "monthly favorites" write-up. It's been awhile since I last do a "favorites" post. The last one I wrote was on November 2011..... Taking a shortcut~, I will skipped December favorites since I don't really have any favorites on that month. Moreover, I don't want to cling on to anything related to Year 2011. It's a past. That being said, I will just start from the new year 2012 "January - March favorites". Yeah, I will just compile 3-months favorites together in 1 post. (・ω・)

♥------- January - March Favorites -------♥

Etude House AC Clinic Line
- AC Clinic Foam Cleanser: cleanse well without aggravating acne
- AC Clinic Toner  (strike-out): somehow it's too drying for me :/
- AC Clinic Gel Lotion: lightweight moisturizer
- AC Clinic Red Spot Balm: lighten post acne hyperpigmentation!
- AC Clinic Pink Powder Spot: kills pimple effectively!

I remember I did a review[link] on the Cleanser and Pink Powder Spot. FYI, I am currently still using both the cleanser and Pink Powder Spot. In fact, I added in other products from the AC Clinic line. They are my HOLY GRAIL items! :D Will do a proper review on this line in the future.

Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner (Toner)
Description on the box: This product is a total solution for pore care, preventing enlarged pores, less firmer skin and skin troubles by eliminating what hurts skin health from within.
I mentioned about this in my "2012 February Haul" [link]~ I replaced the AC Clinic toner with this because this is less drying as compared to the AC Clinic toner. It's more moisturizing than drying~ Loving the pump dispenser!♥

The Face Shop Blackhead EX Charcoal Pore Strip
Another HOLY GRAIL product~ Best & effective Pore Strip I ever used in my entire life. Check out my review here - [link]

Skinfood Tomato Whitening Spot Serum
I used this serum to lighten the pigmentation scars on my left arm which I got it from previous gross infection[link]. It does helps to lighten pigmentation scars however it takes time to notice the improvement. Read my review here - [link]

Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask
I used this once a week to deep cleanse my pores. Love this mask~ Review here - [link]

That's all my favorites for the past 2 months and ½ of this month(?). \m/

Mini haul + November Favorites

Mood:

I haven't been blogging lately because I've been preoccupied with a far more important matter — drama, drama and MORE DRAMAS! *laughs nervously* Yes! I've been busy watching show. That explains why I haven't been updating in a while~ Drama addict yaaa? HAHAHA! Anyway............

---November MINI HAUL---

I'm using the Maybelline Angelfit Two-Way Cake Foundation in OC1 for the past few years however, I just realized that its manufacture date was 2007/11/13 and right now we are in Year 2011/11/30. The powder is 4+ YEARS OLDDD! OMFG... (ò д ó;;) Even though I still have a lot left, I don't dare to use it because I'm afraid it has already expired so to play safe, I went to buy a new powder. Lol.

I got the Maybelline Limited Edition New York Pop Set: Two-Way Cake Pure Mineral Foundation in OC1.
I personally dislike the design of the case but I still got it because it's cheaper than the original? Pure Mineral design — the brown case. Arghh, whatever... the most important thing is the powder. Lol. Anyway, I have yet to use it.

Grabbed the Physicians Formula Conceal RX in Fair Light, Natural Light and Soft Green.
Heard a lot of good things about these concealer but again, i have yet to use it...

Etude House Aloe Moistfull Soothing Gel in 150ml
added this in my November Favorite list so will talk more about it later...

Got new phone cases for my Iphone 3GS and 4.
A very simple silicon orangey-pink? case for my Iphone 4 and a purple angel silicon case for my Iphone 3GS. My brother got the white devil silicon case so I took the angel one~ Anyway, I love these cases~~~♥

Chocolate addiction! Wheeeeeeeeeees~~~ Have a break, Have a Kit Kat!
Sudden craving for this so went to buy a box of it last night~
I LOVE KIT KAT!~ (♥_♥)

Olympus PEN E-PL2!!!!
Finally received this camera on last Friday! It was on sale during 11/11/11 so I grabbed it at a super good price PLUS... it's free shipping~ AWESOME SHIT!~

---End of MINI HAUL---

NOVEMBER FAVORITES~
it's super exciting because it's the end of November and it's crazy~ the year is going like so fast~! 1 more month before we gonna bid farewell to the Year 2011 and welcome the brand new year of 2012. wow, time flies fast huh!? By the way, I can't wait for the season month .aka. December .aka. Christmas! Ohmygosh~ (≥ 3 ≤)

So, actually I wasn't going to write this post but I did want to talk about a few products that I really really realllllly enjoy this month. So I will just jump into the topic for today~

1. Nexcare Acne Patch
I mentioned about this product before and I really love love SUPER LOVE this item! It works like an instant miracle to get rid of zits. Works better than anything else... After I blogged about it the other time, I actually went to get another 4 more boxes the next day. I finished a box in a super fast speed because I have a lot of zits to deal with and because of that, it costs a little more expensive to me. But I am willing to invest my money in this because it seriously works great.

I used it every night after I washed my face. It absorbs all the oil secretion and pus preventing the zits from getting worse overnight. The next day the zits will definitely reduced it's size and it takes about 2-3 days to completely flatten the zits(whiteheads and/or smaller zits). For large pustules and/or papules, it takes a little longer, maybe about 3-5 days, to completely get rid of it.

2. My Beauty Diary Strawberry Yogurt Mask
I also mentioned about this product before so..., this mask enriched with essence to the point that when I first took it out from the package, the essence was dripping... I used this once a week and I love the result the mask gave to my skin. (Click here for the more information about this mask.)

3. Hiruscar
Hiruscar gel comes to rescue~ It's transparent, very light and get absorbs into the skin after massaging. It claims to lighten pimple scars and improve raised scars appearance and I personally think it does! I used this every morning and night after cleansing and it fades my acne pigmentation/discoloration pretty well without breaking me out. FYI, this is my sixth tube~ I started using this since last year and stopped using it after a few months after I got cleared. Recent breakout makes me insane, it left me with a lot of acne spots/pigmentation/discoloration so, I decided to add this back into my skincare routine. Of course, don't expect instant miracle from this product. It takes time to lighten and fade scars. I noticed a difference after using it for 2 weeks and I truly believe in this product since it had once helped me cleared my acne scars in the past.

4. Etude House Aloe Moistfull Soothing Gel
This soothing gel is not sticky jelly form...its texture is liquidy and light. It hydrates the skin and absorbs pretty quickly into the skin. However, the moisturizing effect won't last the whole day. I came across this product when my friend, Shelin, gave me a small packet of sample to try it. During that time, I suffered from minor face rashes. My skin was red, dry, flaky, burning and itchy. This gel soothed the area where I got the rashes without further irritates it. Pretty nice, I like. I love the smell too! So, I went to buy a bottle of 150ml to keep it in my room. I apply this whenever I feels that my skin is dry. FYI, It can be apply to the face as well as to the body.

Alright, that's all for my favorites of the month.

P.S. Our skin react differently to different products. So whatever mentioned here doesn't mean that it will work out great, like how it works for me, for other people. What is great for one person might be horrible for another. So best advice is to do a patch test on your skin prior to use. :)

Sep & Oct Favorites — "Nexcare Acne Patch"

Mood:

I ♥ Shelin she's awesome!
-
September favorites? October favorites? [...] well.....there's nothing much I like.....except for 1 item~ A product that save my day~★

Nexcare Acne Patch~ (♥ε♥)
Suffer from humongous pus-filled zits? No worries~~ Nexcare Acne Patch will save you! *laughs nervously*
It's basically a hydrocolloid patch made up of water-based material that acts like a sponge to absorb the oily secretion, fluid or pus and act as a barrier over the acne to reduce hand contact and infection. It's also waterproof yet breathable to improve healing.

I tried it on pustule(popped) zit and it works great! Love it~ This 'gel-like sticker/patch?' suck out all the nasty stuff and flattened out the zit leaving a red mark(probably will take a few more days to heal completely) the next day~ The sticker/patch will turn from skin color to white when the oily secretion and pus is absorbed. When the sticker/patch turns white, it's time to change it. Put the sticker/patch on an unpopped pustule zit will reduce the size of the zit the next day. Wear it for 2-3 days, morning and night, to flatten and get rid of it completely.

Once the acne heals or there is no sign of infection such as redness, swelling or pus, you can stop using it. Less damage, aggravation and prevent permanent scarring to your skin because you do not need to squeeze the nasty stuff out using fingers!

Effectiveness: ★★★★★
Price: ★★★★☆ (A little too expensive for me because I need to use a lot of it! I have too many zits to deal with... (=_=") LOL!)

I will definitely keep repurchasing this! (≧∇≦)

That's it for the post. P.S. a short one.
Stay tuned for the next update. (^ω^)v

Things I like/got in August = August's Favorites?

Mood:

I've been neglecting my blog ever since I started school~ heheheee... (`_´)ゞ

Oh well, currently rushing on my final work for Design Element... [...] I'm taking a break now. *laughs nervously* So here I am..., blogging~ (=w=)/

By the way, I got my favorite Coach wristlet the other day! Woooo, I loveeee this color!(^ω^)~
Wanted the wallet too but it's out of stock. Not my luck. *tears*

Oh and..., I got a 15-inch MacBook Pro too! *Double happiness ^_^*
This laptop is mainly for school use though... That being said, I will still stuck on using my shabby Lenovo lappy for most of the time. -__- Anyway, I'M NOT USED TO MACBOOK YET! It's totally different from window computer. Argh... D:

Craps, okaaaay, moving on... [...]

I grabbed a new lipstick from the drugstore weeks ago and it's from Revlon ColorBurst — "070 Soft Nude".
I never had any nude shade lipsticks nor lip-glosses before. Therefore, I wanna try wearing nude color. And I must say..., I REALLY REALLY LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEEEEE THIS COLOR! On the con side, it seems to dry out my lips a little after wearing it for a long day... Other than that, everything is fine, nothing unbearable. :D

Ooops, it's getting late... I have school tomorrow so I guess I shall stop here. Bye peeps. (´・з・)ノ

July Favorites!

Mood:

I decided to do an early July favorites because I might not have the time to do it at the end of the month. My college life is starting soon and I have so much work to prepare for the brand new semester! New school, new environment, new people, new things to learn and.........my orientation falls on 25th July. AHHH~~!, I'M NERVOUS LIKE HELL! (≥ 3 ≤) 11 days to go before I say 'sayonara'(means 'goodbye') to my vacation...(T¬T)

So...*getting back to the topic~* [...] I only have 4 favorite products this month...
1. DHC Medicated Acne Care Concealer SPF22 PA++
2. Shiseido Spotscover Foundation?/Concealer
3. Biore Hydra Clear Make Up Remover
4. Homemade/DIY Honey Tea Tree Mask
Without further ado, I will just jump straight into the points...

1. DHC Medicated Acne Care Concealer SPF22 PA++

This concealer conceals imperfections and is sweat-proof. Comes in 2 shades.
I have acne scars(referring to light scars) and this concealer works well to cover them up but the only downside is it can't completely cover dark scars. Other than that, everything is OKAY and it DOES NOT break me out~ *thumbs-up* DHC Medicated Acne Care series are for people who have acne-prone skin like me... (T_T)

2. Shiseido Spotscover Foundation?/Concealer

I first saw this in a Youtube video(Link) and I'm amazed by the coverage that it gives! It has a thick and creamy consistency and is VERY pigmented which make it a good concealer to covers up everything(blemishes)! A little dab goes a long way! However, it comes in only 2 shades — S100 and S101. I bought the lightest shade S100 but I still think that it's a little too dark. ):

By the way, my mom super love this concealer! She used this to hide her super dark freckles that she failed to cover them up using other brands concealer. After I let her try using this, she keep on borrowing it from me every single day! (=`3 ′=) This is truly an AMAZING product!

3. Biore Hydra-Clear Makeup Remover

I LOVE LOVE LOVEEEE this makeup remover! It does a great job on removing my makeup and it's water-based therefore, it does not makes me breakout. Out of all the makeup removers I've used so far, this is THE BEST! I will definitely repurchase it again and agaaaiinnnnnnn!

4. Homemade/DIY Honey Tea Tree Mask
Ingredient:
- ½-1 teaspoon of 100% natural/pure honey
- 1 drop of 100% pure Tea tree oil

Preparation and Application:
-.Mix both ingredients well.
- Apply it on affected areas or whole face for 15-20minutes and wash it off. Use 2-3 times a week.
**Tea tree oil are essential oil which generally volatile and often oxidize to lose their benefit therefore use the mask as soon as possible after preparation.
** Tea tree oil might not suit some skin types.

Honey is rich in vitamins, minerals and amino acids which aids the skin. It has powerful anti-oxidants which fight free radicals and slow down aging, anti-bacterial properties & anti-inflammatory agent that heals and prevents infections and it is a valuable moisturizer for our skin. Tea Tree Oil is an excellent treatments for acne. It has strong anti-microbal, anti-septic and fungicidal properties.Combined it with honey, it helps eradicate the infections in acne affected areas.

This is the most effective mask I've ever used to kill acne! Like seriously, it works miraculously! Way cheaper, better and fastest result than those pimple gels or whatever chemicals-formulated products sold in the drugstores! Try this out if you're not allergic to tea tree oil. you will be amazed by the result!

So these are some of my favorites products for this month! :)
